His pieces are full of strong Typography, structured layout and intention blended with thoughtful color palettes, great textures and stylization.

  • Tim Boelaars does some excellent vector illustrating and icon crafting. The Amsterdam-based illustrator and designer bends angles to his will, creating icons with just the right amount of detail to stand out but not so much that they stop being icons.

    First up are these icon-like illustrations for Tenue de Nîmes, a denim boutique in Amsterdam.

  • Brainstorm is the Portsmouth-based printing, design and illustration studio of Jason Snyder and Briana Feola. Some of my favorite prints they've created feature slightly science-nerdy themes.   • Over the years, Google has stepped up their game in the Google Doodles department. Originally a festive—if not slightly gimmicky logo replacement, the Doodles were just that—doodles. Some of the earliest examples seemed to fall victim to clip art and paint edits, but that's all in the past. Now we look forward to seeing what artistic creation Google will dream up next for their much-less-literal logo hybrids. Sometimes we're surprised by animation, other times it's a cheerful or artistic change that brings novelty or joy to a predictable experience.
