App Interface Design: The Multitasking Camera Genius

The Camera Genius app from CodeGoo adds function to the already excellent iPhone camera. With shooting, editing and sharing features, the app allows a full photo experience within a single app, as opposed to the native camera's very minimal sharing and editing capabilities. The Camera genius interface was designed by Artua, an agency specializing in web and interface design.

For the app's UI design they drew inspiration from DSLR controls and interface, pulling off the look and feel well without getting too literal. Camera Genius may be $2.99 in the iTunes store—a little more than the average app, but if you find yourself flipping between apps for photo processing, it might be a good investment.

Some of the added features include separate focus and exposure areas, picture editing tools and effects, sharing to 7 social networks, anti-shake, timer, a screen shutter function, a photography manual full of shooting and editing tips and techniques, and more. Take a look at some of the UI shots below.

We're curious, do you use Camera Genius, or are you partial to another photo platform? Camera Genius is a nicely and succinctly designed experience, but there are other apps out there with additional features, which some might find more attractive. What's your go-to photo app and why?
