Artificial by Rui Ribeir: Publication Design Where Creation and Perception Collide

Rui Ribeir, currently in New York, is a young graphic designer and illustrator. He created Artificial, a small exploratory publication, to question how products and the making process influence our perceptions of realty.

Through a happy accident, he achieved a beautiful and interesting result through manual processes. Despite realizing the method, he chose not to share it with the the viewer—he only allows us to see the final product. We are left to wonder what actions led to the final outcome, and withholding that information promotes curiosity and thought. Whataver the process, he has certainly created wonderful colors, comps, questions and forms!
