Back to the Start: Stop Motion Animation for Chipotle

Though this stop-motion ad commissioned by Chipotle made me feel a bit guilty for my often casual carnivorous consumption habits, it didn't stop me from appreciating the animation-style and story of the video by Johnny Kelly, an animator and illustrator in London.

(Willie Nelson's cover of Coldplay's "The Scientist," is fitting and lovely too.)

I can't believe they created the scenes and animations by hand. Thankfully, Johnny shared a fantastic glimpse behind-the-scenes, see how they panned the huge scrolling set, created the puppets with a 3D printer, planned with digital animation and more:

You can also see productions stills at Johnnny's flickr' gallery.
