Dorothea Lange Book and Object Design by Sergio Daniel Garcia

This project by designer Sergio Daniel Garcia is a great example of utilizing print material for a desired effect as much as design. The printed book object was completed as a student project to capture and display the essence of Dorothea Lange's photography.

Lange was an influential documentary photojournalist of the Great Depression, forever framing the lives of the poor, unemployed and forced-to-the street population of those stricken by the Depression. Sergio chose to create his book object using wrinkled textured paper, stains and etched cork giving the images a sense of time and tactility.
