Embroidered Penguin Classics Book Covers by Jillian Tamaki

Jillian Tamaki is a multitalented illustrator who lives, works and teaches in New York. She has an extensive illustration protfolio, and after showing off her recent monster quilt venture into embroidery (see below) at her blog, Penguin commissioned her to embroider covers for a "Threads" series of some of their Classics.

I think these are absolutely beautiful, and I love seeing artists and projects mixing mediums and disciplines.
