Illustrations from Pixar Animator Sanjay Patel

Yesterday, I shared the rebranding of the Asian Art Museum, and when exploring their site I stumbled upon some awesome illustrations by Sanjay Patel.

On top of being a talented and long-time animator at Pixar, he develops impressive personal projects on the side. In the video below, from Spark, Sanjay gives a glimpse into his work life at Pixar and some of his personal works, including illustrated books of traditional Hindu stories and deities.

Sanjay welcomes people to question the idea of originality and ritual through his work, which lies at the intersection of tradition and pop-culture. Read more about his work and ideas over at Asian Art.
