Kaimoana Letterpress Print From Walter Hansen: Color and Type Ocean Fun

Walter Hansen designed this two-color, snappy letterpress print. The piece, titled Kaimoana (meaning "seafood" in Maori), features typefaces by Joseph Churchward.

I love how the design plays with color and shape, creating an ocean/beach feel. Hansen says that some of the creature names in the poster may be cause for debate— "who calls a Kahawai a Sea-trout? Hopefully some good can come of this raging debate, by helping promote awareness that an alarming number of these species are endangered, according to Forest & Bird."
