Melt Bar and Grilled: Advertising and Tattoo Design

Melt Bar and Grilled of Cleveland, representing the east- and westside, has devised an interesting promotional savings opportunity / guerrilla advertising campaign. They offer 25% off (for life) to patrons who get a tattoo of one of their three logos, and they allow people to take creative liberties. The three logos:

Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant

Many people have the literal translation of the logo, but here's a collection of some of the more creative efforts:

Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant
Design, tattoo, advertising, melt, restaurant

Since a grilled cheese tattoo would naturally raise questions and curiosity, it's definitely a creative way to get a brand name out there. Plus, if people love a place enough to tattoo the logo on their body, they must have good things to say about it. Melt basically rewards their most loyal customers for talking them up. Whether its the tattoos or the food, something's definitely working... when I tried to go a few months ago, the wait for lunch was three hours.

See more tattoos at their ink gallery.
