NO WASTE Furniture Designs from Rainer & Tobias Kyburz

Design, nowaste, kyburz

Swiss brothers and product/furniture designers Rainer and Tobias Kyburz, create these "NO WASTE" furniture and accessory designs as a product and an idea. The idea is part functional furniture and part conscious use of resources, material and production.

All parts are cut as a pattern from a single piece of wood, which allows for the maximum use of material with little waste. From this construction principle springs the polygon surfaces and intriguing silhouettes. The material used is a coated plywood, which is FSC certificated and also gives the chair a color contrast between the cutting line and surface. The furniture is available in variants of plywood.

The duo also created these cardboard light fixtures, which I think look fantastic. I love the juxtaposed material and form.
