The Online SLR Camera Simulator

design, slr, simulator

Have you ever wanted to experiment with an SLR camera in real time to see exactly what tweaking the aperture or adding to the ISO would do to an image? I have an older SLR with a tiny view screen, so it's almost impossible to learn on the spot or get an accurate idea of how the image turned out.

The Camera Sim online SLR Simulator, designed by Indianapolis interface designers Tuitive, lets you do just that. Adjust the photo for distance and focal point and then go to town adjusting camera settings like ISO, shutter speed, aperture, etc., and lets you choose between manual, shutter priority or aperture priority.

They say they'll be releasing a new version soon, and I'm hoping for a library of photos with different lighting situations (fingers crossed). The current single-page site also include a dictionary of photography terms for quick reference or refresher.
