Phoenix Designs by Jon Ashcroft

The creator of this print series, Jon Ashcroft, is a designer living and working in Phoenix, Arizona.

I may be a little late to the party with this one, as these designs were featured in the Communication Arts Illustration Annual and on a handful of other popular design blogs. But, since I spend most of my time in Phoenix (I'm still not entirely used to the idea that I live here), I find these designs are not only beautifully crafted, but also speak to a place and culture quite accurately.

One of the images—the skyscrapers wrapped in a ribbon—actually made me lol. When people ask me about Phoenix, I often say that the downtown area doesn't follow the typical densely populated city format, "I mean, there's only about five skyscrapers." Hit the nail on the head. His evening cityscape also illustrates this idea, but more eloquently.
