Public Art Project: Traffic Boxes get a Makeover

While searching for design inspired by street signs for a new Inspiration from Elsewhere post, I stumbled upon this outdoor art project. It was too fun not share multiple images.

I love design work that makes you notice the things that fade into the background of everyday life, especially when the outcomes make people think or chuckle. This project, by Seyed Alavi, targeted 23 traffic boxes in Emeryville, California.

The pedestrian stick figure designs were a collaboration between Seyed and eight students from Emeryville High School. Photos from Ingrid Taylar

Anyone out there have any street/traffic sign inspired design? We'd love to share it in our next Inspiration from Elsewhere post. If you do, feel free to comment with a link.
