Publication Design: Penguin 75
Publication Design: Penguin 75

This year Penguin Publishing group celebrates 75 years in the business. Lucky for us design-loving folk, they've decided to commemorate the occasion with Penguin 75: Designers, Authors, Commentary (the good, the bad...).
Art director, Paul Buckley, selected 75 covers from the past ten years and asked authors and designers to discus the design process and how, in the end, they actually felt about their covers. As the title suggests, the commentary isn't padded with fluff, and if the author or designer wasn't happy about the final result, you'll hear why, often with wit and humor abound.

Seeing the process of design from a behind-the-scenes viewpoint is fascinating, and with the addition of commentary the collection promises to be an interesting read. I know I'm going to free up some space on my shelf.
