Swedish Sayings Lost in Translation (or Not)?: Poster Designs by Albin Holmqvist

Design, albinholmqvist, swedishposter

Albin Holmqvist, an art director and designer in Stockholm, created these poster designs to explore language and translation. If he translated Swedish folk sayings literally, would the meanings be lost, and do the expressions exist, in some form, in other cultures?

He created the designs as a contribution to the "From Sweden with love" exhibition curated by Albin and Shahin Haghjou. "The exhibition showcased the more unchartered territory of swedish creativity."
