The Swtichplate Made Useful: Industrial Design

Design studio Vik & Fougere decided that their new switchplate covers needed to pull their weight a little more than their predecessors.

Design, lightswitch, industrial, charger, cover, light, keys

Their products are clever, useful and modern, and the descriptions listed with them made me laugh a bit more than a little, so I’ve included them below as well.

the floor is a sad home for an electronic device.
hiding wires is a sad existence for a faceplate.
the charger clutch is not sad.

if you have a door, chances are you have a key.

if you have a light you probably have a switch.

that switch most likely has a faceplate that does nothing
but conceal the dirty truth behind it's polycarbonate makeup.

concealment for the sake of concealment is dumb.

don't be dumb.

the light hook isn't.

sometimes it's cheaper to buy 2 litres of sodapop instead of 500ml.

the people who make electrical cords probably buy 2 litres of pop when all they need is a sip.

long cords without a home can be stressful.

the cord wrap is like cucumber slices on your eyeballs.

inbox. outbox.

before e-mail there was mail mail.

it's actually still around.

light switches have stuck around for quite some time as well.

the letter holder just showed up, but we like to think it'll be around for a while too.

just like letters and light switches.

but if the post office decides to shut down, the letter holder is recyclable.

or you could hold other things with it. last time we checked, creativity is still around too.
