The United Plates: A Print and Illustration Series by John Holcomb
John Holcomb is a talented illustrator residing on the plains of Kansas who appreciated the simple pleasures in life, including food. He seems to see some sort of edible arrangement hiding within every state's shape, thus his creation of the United Plates Series.
John notes that the series isn't necessarily meant to highlight that state's most popular foods, though in some cases it's fairly accurate. The illustrations explore the space created by the states borders—what does it look like or what could it look like. He says use of imagination is a necessity when viewing the Plates.

Currently, he's selling some of his States prints at Fab.com, but the sale ends in about one day, so if you're interested, hurry over! Otherwise, find his prints for sale at his web printshop Shorthanded Studio.
