Designer Andrew Capener created this Scrabble set as a personal challenge to bring a bit of type appreciation to the letter-centric board game. He wanted to stir up some excitement in players about typography design by giving them the ability to choose their sets font. They could select a game set in their favorite font or with an assorted pack, with additional font sets available through the Scrabble site.

Italian designer Ruggero Asnago's Neritagli collection shows how flat 2D objects can be used to create unique 3D stories. As design often does, the project naturally evolved from its original intent. He started crafting the creatures simply with scissors and paper, creating small imaginary animals for fun. He saw the potential in the objects, and referenced Munari's idea of "sculture da viaggio" (portable design) as inspiration.

This poster design is officially on the wish list, if not just because it's clever and funny, then also because it's a good reminder to find balances. Joey Roth—the man behind the infamous Ceramic Speakers—drew up the Charlatan, Martyr, Hustler graphic for “Hustle,” the first issue of 48 Hours Magazine.

I stumbled upon Weekday Carnival, which is the blog component of the RK Design shop, both from Finland-based Riikka Kantinkoski.
