By day, Phoenix-based Dwight Knowlton is the Visual Director at Bulbstorm, but during his off-time, he focuses on family and his new labor of love, The Litte Red Racing Car. His children's book is an ever-evolving, illustrated project created with an openness to social feedback and ultimately social funding for production.

Dwight agreed to speak with me about the creative project and answer some questions on his goals, aesthetic and the leverage of social media during the design and illustration process.

As Molinelli Charly points out, relatively few individuals ever get to drive a Ferrari, even once. The Portland-based multidisciplinary creator and graphic designer says "That’s a fact. A worse fact is that some of the Ferraris on the market today are being crashed and destroyed. That’s hard to imagine for us normal people, but it seems that the ex-owners aren’t as impressed as we are."

This clean and modern update to a classic 1972 Tradewind Airstream trailer is the work of 28-year-old Matthew Hofmann of Hofmann Architecture. Now the soon-to-be forty trailer looks like an edgy guest studio that could make the front page of Air BnB.

He says Airstream remodels are gaining popularity because they're flexible enough to appeal to all ages, economic statuses and lifestyles. They can be beautiful studio spaces or eclectic guest houses and then can roll away on surfing trips or outback safaris.

For over 40 years, since he first entered the "Panel Beating" (auto body repair) business straight out of school in New Zealand, Rob Pollock has been perfecting the art of faux woodgraining. He learned the technique at an internship, and the effect was normally used in the restoration of classic and vintage cars, but Rob continued to develop the skill, and now offers his skills for bike enthusiasts.
